Syark Navy - 1/350 Dragon Soviet Alfa SSN Class

1/350 Dragon Soviet Alfa SSN Class

The one of various soviet submarine in my bunker. This submarine usually has been used by Soviet Union during the cold war. The Soviet Union/Russian Navy Project 705 (Лира/Lira, "Lyre") was a class of hunter/killer nuclear powered submarines. The class is also known by the NATO reporting name of Alfa. They were the fastest class of military submarines built, with only the prototype K-222 (NATO"Papa" class) exceeding them in submerged speed.

The Lira was a unique design among submarines; it used a powerful lead cooled fast reactor as a power source, which greatly reduced the size of the reactor compared to conventional designs, thus reducing the overall size of the submarine, and allowing for very high speeds. However, it also meant that the reactor had a short lifetime and had to be kept warm when it was not being used. As a result, the Liras were used as interceptors, mostly kept in port ready for a high-speed dash into the North Atlantic.
The first vessel was decommissioned in 1974 and all seven before the end of 1990. The K-123 underwent a refit between 1983 and 1992 and had its reactor compartment replaced with a VM-4 pressurized water reactor. After being used for training it officially was decommissioned July 31, 1996.

Syark Navy Forces - 1/350 Dragon Soviet Nuclear Powered Ballistic Missile Submarine "Typhoon"

1/350 Dragon Soviet Nuclear Powered Ballistic Missile Submarine "Typhoon"

Last 3 years ago during my started model collection, I just focused collect tank and aircraft. Now with the new condition and available budget, I already buy some navy assets to empower my various military to Air, Sea and Land. The first Syark Navy Asset is Soviet Nuclear Submarine as we known as Typhoon. This submarine is huge in my available navy submarine. I'm satisfied with this model. Well good enough for me as beginner Navy Ship Collector right hehehe

The Project 941 or Akula, Russian "Акула" ("Shark") class submarine (NATO reporting name: Typhoon) is a type of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine deployed by the Soviet Navy in the 1980s. With a submerged displacement of 48,000 tons, the Typhoons are the largest class of submarine ever built, large enough to accommodate decent living facilities for the crew when submerged for months on end.The source of the NATO reporting name remains unclear, although it is often claimed to be related to the use of the word "Typhoon" ("Тайфун") byLeonid Brezhnev in a 1974 speech while describing a new type of nuclear ballistic missile submarine. Soviet doctrine for these vessels was to have them launch SLBMs while submerged under the arctic ice, avoiding the traversal of the GIUK gap to remain safe from the enemy attack submarines and anti-submarine forces. Technically Typhoons were also able to successfully deploy their long-range nuclear missiles while moored at their docks.

Typhoon submarines are among the quietest Russian sea vessels in operation, being quieter and yet more maneuverable than their predecessors. Besides their missile armament, the Typhoon class features six torpedo tubes; four are designed to handle RPK-2 (SS-N-15) missiles or Type 53 torpedoes, and the other two are designed to launch RPK-7 (SS-N-16) missiles, Type 65 torpedoes, or mines. A Typhoon class submarine can stay submerged for periods up to 120 days in normal conditions, and potentially more if deemed necessary (e.g., in the case of a nuclear war). Their primary weapons system is composed of 20 R-39 (NATO: SS-N-20) ballistic missiles (SLBM) with a maximum of 10 MIRV nuclear warheads each.

Syark Defence Forces (SDF) -1/35 Academy IDF M113 Fitter

Syark Defence Forces (SDF) -1/35 Academy IDF M113 Fitter

Modeler : Mr Lee Wui Chong

First M113 version IDF that I collected from my Sabah Modeler. This Version M113 designated as Recovery M113.The detailed and too good finishing weathering from lee. Good job brother.

M113 Fitter - Armored recovery vehicle with HIAB (Hydrauliska Industri AB) crane on hull roof. An armoured recovery vehicle (ARV) is a type of armoured fighting vehicle used to repair battle- or mine-damaged as well as broken-down armoured vehicles during combat, or to tow them out of the danger zone for more extensive repairs. To this end the term "Armoured Repair and Recovery Vehicle" (ARRV) is also used. ARVs are normally built on the chassis of a main battle tank (MBT), but some are also constructed on the basis of other armoured fighting vehicles, mostly armoured personnel carriers (APCs). ARVs are usually built on the basis of a vehicle in the same class as they are supposed to recover; a tank-based ARV is used to recover tanks, while an APC-based one recovers APCs, but does not have the power to tow a much heavier tank.

Syark Defence Forces (SDF) -1/35 TRUMPETER US Army M1127 Stryker Reconnaissance Vehicle (RV)

Syark Defence Forces (SDF) -1/35 TRUMPETER US Army M1127 Stryker Reconnaissance Vehicle (RV)

Modeler : Mr Lee Wui Chong

The Fabulous and detailed model that has been make from Mr Lee in Sandakan Hobby. I respect and very thankful for the art has he doing on this model. The Stryker M1127 is other 10 variant Stryker that I need to collect hehhehe. The RV provides an effective platform for RSTA Squadrons and battalion scouts to perform reconnaissance and surveillance operations. The RV is the key enabler for both sensor and HUMINT focused surveillance and intelligence operations. The RV accommodates a squad of six and an additional augmentee, for a total vehicle capacity of seven personnel.
The scout platoon for the battalion developed tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) that allowed them to use the vehicle while still performing the traditional dismounted scout platoon mission. The scout squad moved to a location in the vicinity of their operational area. Then they backed their Stryker vehicles, again equipped with the add-on armor, near stands of trees, brush or other types of concealment. The scout squads dismounted and moved to their observation points, named areas of interest (NAI), or other locations. After the completion of their missions, the squad returned to the vehicles, sent any necessary reports via FBCB2 and FM, and then moved to their next location. Using existing TTPs, by carefully selecting the Stryker vehicle hide positions (to ensure they would support the additional weight of the vehicle with the add-on armor), they were prepared to depart quickly after the return of the squad with minimum preparation or challenge.
